The Crooked Stovepipe FOLK ORCHESTRA

WINTER 2015:

JAN. 21, FEB. 4, 18, MARCH 4, 18, APRIL 1, 15, 29
7:00 – 9:00 PM at 1437 Thompson Rd. in Villa Nova

Whether you’re a guitar picker, a fiddle player, a ukulele strummer, an accordion or concertina squeezer, a mandolinist, a recorder or tinwhistle player, a flutist, a cellist or bassist or if you just like to haul out the old sousaphone for family celebrations, this might be fun for you.

The CS FOLK ORCHESTRA is imagined as a “rough and ready” just-for-fun group of mixed instruments playing collectively-created arrangements of both old-time and contemporary instrumental folk tunes. The music will be taught through written music and/or by ear depending on your preferences and abilities. Tunes and sound files will be make available online in advance of rehearsals. There are no auditions required, but some experience on your instrument is important. A bit of music or chord chart reading ability would be helpful, but is by no means essential. All ages 12 and up welcome.

No audition required, just come out on any rehearsal evening.
That said, we'd really like it if you can let us know if this is something that interests you. E-mail or phone 519-732-9026
You’ll need: Your instrument, a music stand (if you’ve got one) and a smile.
